I’m just curious if anyone has ever considered blogging and all it entails to be a form of “Quiet Time” or “Devotional Time” There are some wonderful sites out there that get you to think about God and all but does it truly, I mean really compare to actual time spent in prayer and meditation on God’s Word? Some people (myself included) tend to get bored with the ritualistic “Quiet Time” I don’t call it that at all and I don’t have a set time or place in which I study the Bible…and besides it’s rarely quiet due to my love for singing.
I guess I’m wanting to warn people of not giving up time alone with God sans the laptop. I fell into this trap and needed to break away for a while. Nothing beats the mundane, old-school, traditional way of growing closer to God. Blogging is now a tool to add icing to my spiritual growth cake. Christians are in a new age where technology places infinite amounts of knowledge and insight in just the internet alone and we should embrace it and use it for the good. What are your feelings about blogging as a devotional? Have you ever faced this problem as I have?
